Running My First Half Marathon for Honduras

On February 2nd, 2014, I’ll be running the Surf City Half Marathon. That’s 13.1 miles. It will be my first running event.

In three months, I’ll be leaving for Honduras to develop water systems. I made a deposit of $250 and received many generous donations, but I still need help funding the trip.

By sponsoring me in running this half marathon, you will essentially sponsor my trip to Honduras and provide me with an opportunity improve the lives of others in a developing country.

As one volunteer, I will be able to provide clean water for 6 people. That’s an entire family that will no longer have to worry about a basic necessity.

That’s change.

However, I won’t be going alone. I’ll be going with an entire team. Imagine a huge team working to improve the standard of living for an entire community.

That’s great change.

The money that is raised will go toward paying for all food, water, lodging, transportation, translators, staff involved in logistics, and equipment and materials for developing and building the water systems.

I would really appreciate it if you would help by sponsoring me in running this half-marathon. Below is a map of the 13-mile route I will be running.

In honor of the half-marathon (13.1 miles), it would be great if you donate $13 to the cause. If you’re feeling extra generous, $20 would be awesome.
